Infrico take part in the R & D Project: “Development and optimization of new products with high energy efficiency”

Infrico has always opted for continuous improvement in its products to be constantly at the forefront of the sector. Therefore, the company has undergone a thorough renovation of its products to adapt them authentically to the evolution of the market and the most demanding regulations.

Through this project, Infrico has developed a new range of products with high energy efficiency, which allows to reach the most demanding classification within the future regulations and approvals that regulate the energy consumption of these equipment in the commercial refrigeration sector.

To improve the energy efficiency of the prototypes, the technical team of the project has been based on 3 cornerstones from which the different technologies and improvements have been studied, in order to develop them in their construction. cornerstone have been the following:

  • Refrigerant gases and future trends.
  • Different technologies to improve insulation.
  • Optimization of cooling systems.

Subsequently, through the corresponding tests, it has been possible to certify the success of the measures adopted in the prototypes and thus be able to include these improvements in the future manufacture of our products.

After the completion of the project, a series of results and conclusions have been obtained that summarize its success:

  • Considering the objectives initially proposed, an improvement in energy consumption of more than 50% has been achieved in practically all the prototypes with respect to the models previously manufactured by the company, and in certain models it has even reached 80% savings in energy consumption global of the apparatus.
  • On the other hand, although it is still early to analyse the reliability of the prototypes, in a first approximation through the characteristic tests, the technical team of the project has been able to redesign many parts of the equipment to adjust them to the demands of the market and thus make them more competitive.
  • The remote connection of the prototypes through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth can allow us to minimize future incidents as well as facilitate repair and improvement of the technical service, one of the points most valued by customers.

Finally, the technical team of Infrico that has take part in the project is very satisfied with the results obtained through the test and the designs proposed for the continuous future improvements. So much so, that some of the prototypes developed in this project have already been included in the New Infrico Catalogue for the year 2018 that has launched to market.

This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the Operational Program for Smart Growth 2014-2020, with the aim of promoting research, technological development and innovation.
